NZ Music Commission Farewells Long-Serving Chairperson
This week the NZ Music Commission chairman Richard Thorne stepped down from his role after five years.
Richard joined the NZ Music Industry Commission’s Board of Trustees as chairman in August 2003. Having been established in 2000 with the mandate of growing the NZ music industry, the Commission was still relatively new and at the time had a staff of four. +more
The NZ Music Commission and Music Managers Forum present Warrant Of Fitness: Tune Up
The NZ Music Commission recently got word that legendary UK artiste manager Peter Jenner was traveling to Australia, and jumped at the opportunity to secure him for a series of Warrant Of Fitness: Tune Up seminars in Christchurch, Auckland, and Wellington. Jennerhas managed Pink Floyd, T Rex, Ian Dury, Roy Harper, The Clash, Robyn Hitchcock, Eddi Reader, Baaba Maal and others. He continues to manage the career of Billy Bragg and in 2006 was the co-author of the well-received Music Tank report Beyond the Soundbytes. +more
