May!

May 26th 2015
We are nearly at the end of NZ Music Month and it’s great we have a month to celebrate homegrown music and the people who make it, but it really should be celebrated all year round!

31 days of celebrating local kiwi music in our schools, libraries, venues, parks and communities. With over 780 events listed around the country on our NZ Music Month gig guide, you were sure to find something that tickled your fancy.

In our world, we celebrated Music Month by bringing 14 musicians into 17 different schools around the country. A few examples: Anna Coddington mentored at Alfriston College in Auckland, Shona Laing at Waihi College, Iva Lamkum at Rongotai College in Wellington, Maisey Rika at Rotorua Girls High School, Mark Vanilau at Hillmorton High School in Christchurch, Jed Parsons at Timaru Boys’ High School and finishing it off with Jimmy Christmas at Rotorua Lakes High School.
