Gaining Support Slots, Writing a Basic Performance Agreement, and Outward Sound Overview Video

November 11th 2010

For the third year, the New Zealand Music Commission in partnership with Creative New Zealand are running the New Zealand trade stand at Womex. Womex is the premier world music trade show which is currently taking place in Copenhagen through to October 31st.

This week we added another couple of informative guides for you; Writing A Basic Performance Agreement offers a basic framework for you to create your own Performance Agreement, the guide offers tips and suggestions as to what to include in a Performance Agreement.

We also take a look at Support Slots, a selection of industry figures from; JLP Presents, Liberation Music, Muzai Records, Mystery Girl, RW Entertainment and Strange News were polled to gain some insight into the way support slots work, both for local and international acts.

On video we talk with Alan Holt from the Music Commission who discusses what Outward Sound is and how it works.

Important dates: Submissions to play at next year’s South By Southwest are due by Friday November the 5th.

May the good music be yours.
