DEAF Release New Single 'Truancy'

May 14th 2018

Featuring former members of NZ shoegaze band Sunken Seas, DEAF are a Post Punk/Dreampop Wellington quintet by way of Wellington via the UK who meld quintessential British Post Punk Influences (Tubeway Army, The Fall, The Cure) with the influences of early 90's Dreampop.

'Truancy' is the first single from an upcoming eponymous EP to be released later in 2018 and has received high praise -"Truancy" is earworm pop - a gloriously constructed and recorded piece of freakishly hummable oddness" - Pop Lib NZ.

The band will be touring NZ and Australia in support of the EP in the near future with future shows in Wellington for August and September planned.

‘Truancy' features pedal-note synthesisers which accent clean guitar arpeggios and vocalist Luke Kavanagh's pensive delivery. It's the first tune from the band's eponymous debut EP due out later this year - check it out below and catch DEAF in the flesh at Wellington's Meow this coming Saturday.
