Have you ever wondered what it's like to run social media for Japandroids and Tom Waits or work directly with artists such as Mac DeMarco or Unknown Mortal Orchestra? How to be one of the youngest woman-identifying A&Rs in the industry? How to book a tour in China or perform at a four day festival in Mexico with 18,000,000,000 portaloos? Own your own artist management company, head an independent record label or successfully licence music? The two day GOING GLOBAL MUSIC SUMMIT is a rare opportunity for any local artist, manager, publicist, A&R, producer, music writer, record label and venue manager to connect with, question and hear ideas from some of the international music industry's most relevant and forward-thinking superstars. IMNZ is bringing to New Zealand; international booking agents, synch licensors, international media, PR experts, artist managers with international experience and those working for the fast-moving live and digital music platforms. You never know who you will meet!

The 2018 GOING GLOBAL MUSIC SUMMIT is thrilled to announce the following representatives and experts in their fields of music A&R, booking, licensing, managing, marketing, promoting and publishing as the first of many international speakers attending the summit...

AMBER CAREW (A&R, Saddle Creek Records, USA), BRIANNA LIEBLING (Booker, Billions Corporation, USA), BRIAN ZABINSKI (TAMIZDAT Artist visas, USA), BRONTË JANE (A&R Director, Third Side Music, USA), FABRIZIO ONETTO (Artist Manager, A&R, OCESA Seitrack / Partner, DiscoPanoram, MEXICO) , JEN PEARCE (Music Licensing & Strategy / Founder/CEO, Low Profile, USA), JESSI FRICK (Manager, Citrine Management, USA), KATIE GARCIA (A&R, Secretly Group / Owner, Bayonet Records, USA), KEVIN PEDERSEN (Label Manager, Dead Oceans, USA), NEVIN DOMER Maybe Mars, China) AND TOM WIRONEN (Manager, Friendly Announcer, USA).

Independent Music New Zealand (IMNZ) General Manager, Dylan Pellett says "We are building another great line-up of speakers for this year's GOING GLOBAL. Following on from the success of 2017s sell out event, we are once again elated to be able to host the conference in Neil Finn's world class recording studios".

"From the hospitality, the band showcases, the delegates and the opportunity to meet local labels and artists, Going Global is a thoroughly worthwhile affair"
- Andrew Jervis, Bandcamp USA

The two day conference culminates on Saturday night at three of Auckland's vibrant music venues; Wine Cellar, Backroom and Whammy! Bar. With a hand picked New Zealand music festival experience that showcases New Zealand's next big thing to fans, industry, and international tastemakers.

"I've met with many of the industry speakers coming to New Zealand for the 2018 summit and they are very excited to be travelling to the South Pacific - with all the recent global attention being paid to our artists... it has them all wondering!"
Dylan Pellett - Independent Music New Zealand

The 2017 event sold out and showcases over the years have been instrumental in the discovery of some of New Zealand's biggest success stories. Previous artists include; Aldous Harding, Tami Neilson, Tiny Ruins, Anthonie Tonnon, Sachi, Fazerdaze and Nadia Reid.

Dunedin musician Kane Strang is a Going Global success story with his 2015 showcase being a deal-sealer for U.S. record label, Dead Oceans (Mitski, Marlon Williams, Slowdive). Head honcho Phil Waldorf says, "I was a huge fan of Kane's music when I travelled to New Zealand for Going Global...It's one thing to like a few songs you've heard on Bandcamp or Soundcloud, it's another to see it live. It was an inspired, invigorating performance, and confirmed what I already loved in the recordings. We had to work with him." Kane Strang released his sophomore album in June 2017 on globally-distributed Dead Oceans and has successfully toured the U.S., U.K. and Europe.
